Obituary
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Wayne Furlong at the Huntsville Hospital in his 86th year.
Predeceased by his wife Jennette (June) Furlong (nee Hummel) and son Dwayne. Loving father of Jackie Semeniuk (Ron), Debbie Stinson (Bob) and Sandy Furlong (Ron Rolston). Cherished grandpa of Kerry, Darryl, Dallas, Ashley, Trista, Josh, Dylan, Tyler, Dusty, and great grandpa of 21 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Garry Furlong, Hart (Stanley) Furlong and Diane Diamond. Wayne will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents; Charlie and Mary Furlong and by his siblings; Roy Furlong, Don Furlong and Betty Besharah.
Wayne was born in South River on February 28, 1938. He worked as a maintenance worker at the Ontario Hospital in North Bay until his retirement. He loved hunting and fishing and would go to Hornepayne to hunt every chance he could, but there was nothing greater than his love for country music. He played in local bands and played at the Norland Hotel and surrounding area every weekend. He loved to jam with the family and his friends whenever he had the opportunity.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 4, 2023 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Raney Funeral Chapel.
In Wayne's memory, donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be gratefully appreciated by his family.
