Kathleen Coughlin Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kathleen Coughlin on May 20, 2025 at Eastholme for the Aged, in her 98th year. Kay was predeceased by her husband, Ross.
Dear mother of Raymond (Debbie), Glenn (Kathy), Karen and Clayton Coughlin. Cherished grandmother of Kayla (Nick), Kristen (Dan), Mike and Tyler. Great grand mother of Hailey,
Dylan and Luken. Dear sister of Thelma, Eric (predeceased), Rose, Art, Ethel and Richard.
Kay was born in Poland, Ontario to Duncan and Barbara McIntosh. She was the eldest of 7 children.
Kay always wanted to be a teacher and when she was done her schooling, she came to the South River area to teach in several one room school houses. She boarded at Frank and
Madeline Coughlin's house where she met Ross. Her last one roomed school house was Glen Roberts, where she taught all her children and many relatives and neighbours! Her last
teaching position was at South River Public School.
Upon retirement, Kay enjoyed painting, crossword puzzles, gardening, going for walks to see wildlife and helping Ross
with many woodworking projects. She especially liked family get-togethers. She always enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and helping them out with many projects. She will always be
remembered for her smile.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Raney Funeral Chapel on Saturday May 31, 2025 from 11-1 PM
If so desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the Eastholme Resident's Fund would be appreciated.
