It is with sadness, we announce the passing of Edward Arthur Baumgartner on July 8, 2025 at the Terrance Bay McCausland Hospital.
He is survived by his loving wife and companion for 54 years, Brenda (Secord) Baumgarter, loving father of Jenny-Lee (Steve). Predeceased by his son Eddie (Paige). Treasured grandfather of Cheyenne (Kyle), Joesph, Dakota (Moriyah) and Sierra. Great grandfather to Daisy, Shophia, Emery and Marverick. Sadly missed by his siblings Karen (Mike), and Marlene. Predeceased by siblings Caroline, Frank, Andy, David and Wenda and by his parents Frank and Rene Baumgartner. He will be missed by numberous, nieces, nephews, friends and family. Ed will rejoin his beloved pets Diesel and Marshall who he treasured.
Ed was a long time truck driver most of his life. In his younger years he was an alter boy, Boy Scout leader a devoted Nascar fan, a charter member of the Kinsmen Club organized in 1975 and Ed was awarded a metal for bravery in August of 1993 for an accident that occured in 1992.
Ed got the nick name "8 Ball" for the love of the game, which is often enjoyed at the Brechin Legion. That nick name carried on as a CB handle while he was trucking. He always looked forward to yearlydemolishion derbies, and fishing and hunting were his passion.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on September 13, 2025 at the South River Legion from 1-4 pm.
